Gaobu Power Plant Gas Cogeneration Expansion Project put into trial operation

On June 21, 2024, the first unit of the Gaobu Power Plant Gas Cogeneration Expansion Project of Dongguan Shenran Natural Gas Thermal Power Co., Ltd. successfully completed a 168 hour trial run, marking the official operation of the first unit of the Gaobu Power Plant Gas Cogeneration Expansion Project.

The project is located in Gaobu Town, Dongguan City and is under the general contracting and construction of China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. The total planned capacity of this renovation and expansion project is 2 × 470MW (F-class) gas steam combined cycle units. After the completion of the project, the annual power generation will be 3.3 billion kilowatt hours, and the annual heating capacity will reach 5.83 million gigajoules. This will further improve the local power supply capacity, provide efficient and reliable thermal energy for surrounding areas, enhance the power supply support capacity of the load center, and strengthen the peak shaving and disaster resistance capabilities of the Dongguan power grid.

The auxiliary intake system and exhaust duct of the gas turbine in this project are provided by Huaqiang New Energy (HQA).
